Scott Goodman

I am Scott Goodman, an energetic and enthusiastic 57 year-young Canadian man. Most of my learners would describe me as a technically-minded person.

Before I returned to English teaching, I was an accountant in the Canadian energy (oil & gas) industry. I also graduated with a Canadian Commercial Pilot Licence (1992).

I think of myself as more of a coach than a teacher! Learning is much more important than teaching: my job is to motivate and encourage my learners to become more confident in themselves. I don't just 'teach' English! I help motivate students to learn English and to eventually teach themselves.

I coach English through storytelling! Telling your own stories and learning from others' stories through TED Talk exercises are the main components of a coaching session with me.

Nowadays, I am more focused on helping B2's, C1's, and C2's practice and improve their spoken English skills. Still, I enjoy working with any motivated learners aged 17 and older.
