I am an English teacher with 28 years of experience. I have a diploma in English Literature and a master's degree in education. I love teaching and love to see students master the language and become fluent. My main target is to improve students' self-confidence in English communication. Students could gradually handle the main skills of: Reading, writing, listening and speaking. I believe in triggering the cognitive abilities in each student; encouraging them to have their own critical thinking. Every student has great potential and abilities that allow for various ways of opening their horizons and earning a broad perspective on numerous topics.
In my opinion ,I believe in a holistic approach through which the English language is earned in a deductive method. Students should be exposed to a variety of realistic everyday topics to be dealt with; they should listen, talk, discuss, argue and debate several issues to earn enough confidence and fluency. Later, they can learn the details such as grammar, syntax, linguistics, spelling, vocabulary and other aspects. That way, students would never feel overwhelmed in acquiring the language because they would get a sense of familiarity before going into detailed lessons. Once student feel comfortable in expressing themselves properly using a new language, all lessons related to the language become much easier and more relatable.
I firmly believe that teaching English as a second language should be transformed into a fun process rather than a chore. A language is not rigidly a number of words, sentences and paragraphs ; it is a vast new culture that can be greatly interesting and appealing to all generations ,of all ages ,from all backgrounds. It's definitely an exciting experience that enhances a student's maturity, knowledge, confidence and sense of pride.
