Angie Aquino

I am a Cambridge CELTA-certified English teacher with over 19 years of experience teaching languages in both classroom and online environments. Throughout my career, I have worked with teenagers and adults at various proficiency levels, helping them develop confidence and practical communication skills in English.

My lessons are personalized to each student's goals, whether they are learning English for work, travel, academic purposes, international exams, or everyday communication. Before starting, I take time to understand each learner's needs, strengths, and areas for improvement so that I can create an effective learning plan.

My teaching approach combines structured language development with active communication. Lessons typically include speaking practice, vocabulary expansion, grammar in context, listening activities, reading comprehension, and pronunciation work. I believe students learn best when they actively use the language, so I encourage meaningful interaction and real-life communication from the very beginning.

In addition to general English, I have experience preparing students for international examinations and assessing language skills using Cambridge-based criteria. My background also includes teaching English Language Arts, Literature, Public Speaking, and Creative Writing, which allows me to support students in developing both accuracy and fluency.

I strive to create a supportive, professional, and engaging learning environment where students feel comfortable making mistakes, asking questions, and challenging themselves. My goal is to help learners achieve measurable progress while becoming more confident and independent users of English.

I particularly enjoy working with intermediate and advanced learners (B1–C1) who want to refine their communication skills and use English more effectively in professional, academic, or international settings.
